AppSumo Plus Week: How It Works, and What Happened After the September 2026 Edition

The September 2026 Plus Week ended on September 18 at noon CT. This page is now our evergreen guide to the event: how it works, who gets the discount, and what actually happened to the deals once the week was over. That last part is the most useful thing we can tell you before the next one.

What Plus Week is

Plus Week is a recurring AppSumo promotion where a batch of tools launches as Plus Exclusive for a short window, and AppSumo Plus members get a deeper discount than usual. It runs alongside the bigger annual events such as Sumo Day, AI Week and Black Friday, but with less advance notice.

During the September 2026 edition:

• Twelve tools were listed as Plus Exclusive.
• Plus members got 19% off orders of $100 or more, nearly double the standard 10% member discount.
• Two access patterns appeared on the deal pages: "Early access ends in 3 days", which read as opening to everyone afterwards, and "Plus access ends in 3 days", which read as Plus-only for the whole event.

What happened to the deals afterwards

We re-checked several of the September deals on October 5, 2026, about two weeks after the event closed. The pattern is the lesson:

Three things follow from this:

1. The event price was usually the lowest price. Three of the four deals we checked cost more afterwards. If a Plus Week tool replaces a bill you pay today, the event is a good time to buy it.
2. "Plus Exclusive" can be temporary. AudioHero opened to everyone after the event, at a slightly higher price. Missing the window did not always mean missing the tool.
3. Some deals do close. Charla sold out. If one specific tool matters to you, buying inside the window is the safer choice.

None of this changes the basic rule: a discount on a tool you will not use is still money spent on nothing.

Prices and review counts as listed during the event, on September 15, 2026. They are a historical record, not current prices.

The strongest records going in were AudioHero (300,000+ royalty-free tracks; listing) and WPSubscription (recurring payments for WooCommerce; listing). Check current availability and price on each deal page before buying.

Should you join Plus for the next Plus Week?

Usually not on the Annual plan just for one event. The Monthly plan is built for exactly this situation: join for the event, take the deeper discount and the exclusive access, and cancel if you do not plan to keep buying.

Run the numbers before you join, even for a short plan. If you buy two deals at about $69 each, that is $138; 19% off saves about $26, which is more than double what the standard 10% returns. If you buy one $49 deal, the saving is under $10, and the membership has to justify itself on access rather than discount.

If you already have Annual or Pro, Plus Week is simply a good week to buy anything you were already planning to buy.

How to get ready for the next one

Plus Week arrives with less notice than the big seasonal sales, so the preparation has to be done in advance:

2. Decide your membership plan now, not when the countdown starts.
3. Set a budget ceiling and use the gates in our Black Friday buying framework; they work for any sale.
4. Expect several new listings with no reviews. That is normal for launch-week deals and not a red flag on its own, but it means you need our 10-point due diligence checklist instead of a review history.

After you buy anything in a sale

Redeem or activate on the day you buy. Codes typically expire 60 days after purchase, and licenses may need activating too; see how codes and stacking work.

Set a day-50 reminder. Used it in a real project in the last two weeks? Would you pay for it today if the deal were gone? Two noes means refund, while the refund window is still open.

Check the deal terms on each listing. Tier limits, stacking rules and the exact refund window are set per product.
